Q-Wood by Quick-Step Launches New “Longer/Wider, Wire-Brushed” Hardwood at Surfaces 2016

 

Dallas, TX – January 26, 2016 – Q-Wood by Quick-Step — a unique product assortment targeting consumers seeking luxurious premium hardwood flooring — launched a brand new collection of “longer/wider, wire-brushed” engineered hardwood at last week’s Surfaces 2016 flooring tradeshow.

“Like Quick-Step laminate, our Q-Wood hardwood is a fashion-driven product line that offers the richest, most sophisticated premium looks available in tandem with low maintenance and resistance to the wear of daily living,” said Harry Bogner, senior vice president of hardwood for Unilin, Q-Wood’s parent company. “Our new Q-Wood Elongé collection offers style and craftsmanship through unique artisan hardwood floors designed with the latest trends in mind. Two of today’s hottest trends are longer/wider planks and wire-brushed surfaces. Elongé offers both of these attributes in a spectrum of fashion-forward colors.”

The new Q-Wood hardwood products were featured prominently during Surfaces 2016 in the Quick-Step’s booth, on the Surfaces show floor at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, January 20th through 22nd.

In premium hardwood, wire-brushed surfaces are just what the name implies: hardwood that has been brushed with wire bristles to open and enhance the wood grain, adding texture & character to the floor. The process of wire-brushing creates the look of vintage wood accentuated by a softly distressed grain visual.

One smooth surface engineered hardwood is also included in the new Elongé launch. Tarnished Silver Maple (below) offers a sleek, refined finish that evenly displays the color and graining of the floor.

Elongé’s hickory, maple, and oak species are offered in ½” thick planks that vary in lengths up to 72” and are available in single 7” wide planks or 4", 6" & 8" combined multi-width planks for a unique visual appeal. Each plank features eased edges and ends.

All Elongé floors feature a matte finish and medium to high shade variation. The new line can be installed by floating, nailing, stapling and/or gluing — on or above ground. Elongé’s hickories have a photosensitivity of three, while the oaks and maple photosensitivity is two.

All Q-Wood products, including the new Elongé collection, feature the Opulux Performance Enhanced Finish. Opulux is a cross-linked coating system that illuminates the beauty of the grain, offering the appearance of an oil finish while maintaining the advantages of a conventional urethane floor. Opulux also provides a protective top coat that shields against stains and every day wear.
