Dallas, TX – October 20, 2015 – Quick-Step’s Tuxedo Pine, from the NEW Envique Collection was recently selected by nationally syndicated columnist and decorating expert Debbie Travis for her list of hot flooring trends.

Just arriving on the market, high-quality laminate flooring from Quick-Step shimmers with the look of charred wood,” said Debbie Travis, decorating expert, host of two highly rated television shows on HGTV, book author, weekly syndicated newspaper columnist, frequent guest on The Oprah Winfrey Show, and member of the Live With Regis and Kelly decorating dream team.

“From Quick-Step’s new Envique Collection, Tuxedo Pine is a premiere laminate that mimics the charred, smoked appearance,” said Travis. “It shimmers with textures and muted greyshades. The popular colorway enhances both modern and traditional styles.”

Quick-Step’s NEW “Fire-Charred” Wood Design
“Quick-Step’s new Tuxedo Pine from the Envique Collection is a life-like replication of fire-charred wood,” said Oke Nollet, design director for Unilin (Quick-Step’s parent company.) “Black has definitely made a comeback — timeless and elegant, yet rugged. You can use black in your interior decorating scheme to make a definitive statement. Black will heighten the luxury appeal of every room.”

“The eye-catching design of our Tuxedo Pine is a distinctive floor inspired by the age-old practice of burning wood that has its origins in the Japanese Shou Sugi Ban technique: burned wood was used as a natural protective layer against pests and fire,” said Nollet. “We started to experiment in the same way. The Tuxedo Pine pattern was designed by making use of reliefography, a technique that is used for replicas of paintings, to scan in the composition of burned wood. The result is a black floor with the unique texture of burned wood.”

“For years, our distributors and retailers have been wanting a black product in the Quick-Step line, but we held off until we had something that was truly special enough to live up to Quick-Step’s standards for style and design,” said Roger Farabee, senior vice president of marketing for Unilin/Mohawk Hard Surfaces. “The fire-charred design and color of Tuxedo Pine achieves the level of style we were waiting for. Tuxedo Pine is a spectacular floor!”

Tuxedo Pine and the rest of Quick-Step’s new Envique Collection are the “Next Generation” of premium laminate flooring — raising the bar by providing a new higher level of realism, texture, and style than almost every other laminate on the market today.
