The 15th Expo Revestir and the International Forum of Architecture and Construction opened March 7 in São Paulo, Brazil. The official opening was attended by state representative Itamar Borges; the assistant secretary for housing, Nelson Luiz Bareta Neves Filho; Dilson Ferreira, superintendent of Abrafat; Heitor Almeida, chairman of ANFACER; José Jaime Sznelwar, Mining Undersecretary; Councilman Rodrigo Goulart; Raul Penteado, general director of Deca; Antonio Carlos Kieling, president of Expo Revestirand Forum; and director of events, Lauro Andrade Filho.
Exhibitors presented in the 40-thousand-square-meter space, distributed across seven pavilions, in the segments of ceramics for coverings, sanitary ware, metals for kitchen and bathroom, ornamental stones, mosaics, wood, laminates, cement, vitreous and other solutions for architectural projects and interior design. Beside the main national brands, the event also featured exhibitors from Germany, Argentina, Belgium, Chile, Spain, the U.S., France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Sweden and the Czech Republic.
With the support of the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) and ANFACER, a meeting of the Buyer Project and Image was held at the expo to generate business. Buyers were invited from countries such as: Aruba, Bahrain, Chile, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Mozambique, Peru, the Dominican Republic, and Trinidad and Tobago. The meeting was attended by journalists and opinion leaders from South Africa, Argentina, Spain, the U.S., France, Italy, Paraguay and the UK.
The first day of the International forum of Architecture and Construction began with speeches from Antonio Carlos Kieling (chairman of Anfacer), Eliana Sanches (Grupo Abril), and Noura Van Dijk (acting chairman of ABD). Angelo Derenze of D&D and Eliana Sanches of Casa Claudia were also honored with an award.
Interior Designer Day hosted a panel, which discussed “After All, What Changes with the Recognition of the Interior Designer Profession?” Charrisse Johnston, president of the national board of directors for the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), presented “The Practice of the Interior Designer's Profession and the Forms of Negotiation in the US.” To end the afternoon, Vincent Gregorie, creative director at NellyRodi, a trend research agency in 16 countries with correspondents across the globe, discussed design trends and decoration and style for 2018-19.
The High Design Space lectures began with architect Camila Klein, who talked about the trends in the world of architecture, and interior designer Joia Bergamo. Light designer Maneco Quinderé, Bruno Freitas, from Lilliput Maquetes, Sérgio Matos, Maurício Lamosa, from Estudiobola, and Guto Indio da Costa are also scheduled to give lectures at the High Design Space, located at booth 950.
Casa Vogue magazine celebrated its participation with the Rooftop Casa Vogue environment. The space presented a collection of surface design signed by the stylist Glória Coelho for DellAnno.
